The 7th Annual ElliptiGO Rally weekend once again brought together owners from across the country for fun rides, good food and great conversation.
The weekend’s activities officially kicked off Saturday morning with the World Championships of Elliptical Cycling, a grueling 11.69-mile climb up Palomar Mountain. Read the recap of the men’s and women’s races, which featured dominating performances, a new record, and an unexpected dash to the finish.
Crowds start amassing in the afternoon for the first group rides of the Rally. These “no drop” rides enabled everyone to take part, regardless of their level of experience or fitness riding an ElliptiGO bike. Upon returning, we enjoyed delicious tacos and ice-cold beverages while swapping stories of rides past and dream rides to come.
Bryan Pate, ElliptiGO CEO and co-founder, handed out awards to the World Champions, and he also gave the “Authentic & Inspiring Award” to Anna Thatcher and Tim Woodier (who was at home in the UK). A past top-three finisher in the World Championships, Thatcher came one summit short of completing the California Death Ride last year. She vowed to return for redemption. This year, she did just that, keeping alive the streak of ElliptiGO riders who have finished the Death Ride since 2009. Woodier recently completed an astounding 6800-mile ride through the eastern United States and Canada, aided by fellow ElliptiGOers.
Sunday morning featured more group rides along the beautiful California coast. Check out the photos below and see even more here. Plan on joining us next year!
