A Historic Message from Our CEO, Bryan Pate

Today is a historic day for ElliptiGO. For the first time since we founded the company, we are passing the mantle of leadership to a new CEO. I could not be more proud to announce that Bryce Whiting is now the Chief Executive Officer of ElliptiGO.

Leading ElliptiGO from an idea to the company it has become has been the privilege of my lifetime. To be able to hand it over to someone as talented and capable as Bryce is truly the pinnacle of that experience because it demonstrates that we have created a sustainable organization that has stood the test of time. The process to get here has been challenging. It has been filled with highs and lows. As a group, we have persevered. I can assure you that today is one of the highs and that I have never been more optimistic about the future of ElliptiGO.

If you have had the pleasure of meeting Bryce, I am certain you’ll agree there is no one else who is anywhere close to as qualified as he is to take on this responsibility. Bryce has been involved with ElliptiGO since the very beginning. He was the person who re-connected Brent and me almost 20 years ago when what would become ElliptiGO was just a sketch on a piece of paper. For the next four years, he was a reliable tester of our prototypes. His feedback on those early concepts influenced fundamental aspects of the 40,000 ElliptiGOs that are on the road today. As soon as we raised money to fund the launch of the product, we hired Bryce and his wife Erin as consultants. They led the effort of giving test rides of our prototypes to potential purchasers and found our very first customers. When we decided to bring on full-time employees in July of 2009, they were the first people we hired. Remarkably, Bryce and Erin have worked side by side at ElliptiGO ever since and have played a huge role in creating the family environment that ElliptiGO has become.

From those early days when Bryce often worked out of the Solana Beach Library because our tiny office was filled with prototypes, two engineers and a mechanic making quite a bit of noise, Bryce has led the sales and marketing efforts for the company as a member of the management team. He played a key role in navigating us through every up and down of the rollercoaster ride that has been ElliptiGO. He knows our history as intimately as anyone could and at the same time, he brings a new perspective on how to get ElliptiGO to where we want it to be. He’s not wedded to decisions of the past and is eager to forge a new way forward through what he has rightfully dubbed “ElliptiGO 2.0.” With Bryce at the helm, the future is bright.
As we transition from one steward of this company and industry to the next, I’d like to personally thank Bryce for his dedication to our company and his contributions to our success. We would not be here without him and it is an honor to have shared this journey with him, Erin and the rest of the ElliptiGO team. Most importantly, I am fortunate to have him as a friend. Bryce, when it is time for you to hand over stewardship of ElliptiGO and the entire elliptical cycling industry to the next person, I know you will be handing over something better than what you are receiving today. Along with the entire ElliptiGO team, I am excited to support your efforts to make ElliptiGO what we all know it can become.

My final request is to our community members: please continue to provide Bryce with the support, enthusiasm and love that you have shown me for the past 15 years. Leading a small company trying to do something revolutionary is really hard. I would not have made it through without the constant positivity that you communicated from the beginning. Your notes, feedback and personal connections mean more to me than you could ever know. Please continue to provide that to Bryce and do your part to ensure that ElliptiGO continues to flourish so we can deliver our life-changing products to as many people as possible around the world. We cannot succeed without you.

As for me, I’ll be taking on the new role of CEO of PT Motion Works, the company that owns both of our sister companies: GIBBON North American and ElliptiGO. I’ll remain dual-hatted as CEO of GIBBON North America while we continue to build out that team. I’m also eager to launch a new brand under the PT Motion Works portfolio. Our organization is growing rapidly, so it is an exciting time for everyone here. You’ll also continue to see me at ElliptiGO events, on the GOGO leaderboard, and riding my ElliptiGO.

Thank you for being a part of our journey and Happy Riding!

Bryan
