We’ve been keeping you up to date on Idai Makaya’s exciting plans to complete a 1700 mi (2700 km) journey across Great Britain. His Longest Ride Challenge inspired ElliptiGO riders all over the world, and we recently gave him a send-off penned by Global ElliptiGO Rider’s Club officers.
This past Thursday, Idai achieved his goal – successfully completing his ride from Land’s End to John o’ Groats and back to Land’s End (aka LeJogLe). His efforts have blown away our team at World HQ and the ElliptiGO community worldwide. We’re excited to name Idai the July 2018 Rider of the Month. We thank him for sharing the values of our brand and for using his ElliptiGO bike to promote positive change in his community.
With riding partner Alan by his side for the entire journey, Idai experienced so much along the way. Here’s a recap of some of the best moments, which he documented through his website and social media. Come along on the LeJogLe, the #RideForGarai, and see why this will go down in history as one of the most epic ElliptiGO rides ever.
*Day 1* Today we commence our 1,700-mile (2,700km) ride, both ways across Britain (between Land’s End & John o’Groats). The aim is to cover 150-miles (240km) every day for the next 11 days.
