Every July we celebrate International Elliptical Cycling Day (IECD). Over the years the date has changed but the spirit remains the same, a celebration of the ElliptiGO and the amazing community that has been cultivated.
IECD began in 2014 to commemorate the co-founders Bryan Pate and Brent Teal formalizing their partnership to develop the world’s first elliptical bicycle in July 2005. Ten years later, we created a custom cycling jersey using the images of the elliptical bike patents that hang at ElliptiGO Headquarters.
Today the ElliptiGO remains the industry leader in elliptical cycling, we’ve sold over 40,000 bikes across the world. This year we will celebrate IECD on July 8th and encourage our community to ride, preferably together.
For Global Elliptical Riders Club members who participate in the GOGO challenge, you can earn extra points for riding on July 8th. If you are in Southern California, GERC is hosting a free event in Huntington Beach. For San Diego riders, there is a 30 mile group ride that will meet at 7:45am at Fletcher’s Cove in Solana Beach.
Looking for someone to ride with? Post your interest in the ElliptiGO Facebook group and good chance you’ll find someone in your area.
No matter where you GO or who you’re riding with, be sure to show us how you’re marking the day. Tag us and use the hashtag #IECD2023!

Yay IECD!! Is this new jersey going to be available for purchase? Thanks!
Hi Kim! We created that jersey in 2015. We no longer sell that one. Sorry for the confusion.
